Coffee Cake Donuts

I love finding and eating a great donut. Eating paleo has stopped me from getting my hands on a fluffy, fried donut, but tonight I tried a different approach: baked cake donuts. Inspired by coffee cake, these donuts (while not 100% paleo because of the sour cream), are sweet and moist and filled that donut craving I had. Continued…

With weeks like this one with highs in California hitting the 90s, I was looking for something easy and refreshing to bake. The lemons at the store this week struck me as just that and I decided to whip up these lemon muffins. Easy, light & refreshing! Continued…

Olive Loaf

I’m about 4 months into my first pregnancy and all I seem to crave are salty snacks. I created this loaf in the hopes of curbing some of those cravings. I hope even those who aren’t pregnant will enjoy this tasty bread. Continued…

Carrot Cake

This weekend I decided to try something a little different. I’m not a huge fan of carrot cake, but my husband loves it, so I used his The Wild Diet cookbook and modified the carrot cake recipe. Peach Cobbler Muffins

IMG_0927I’m back! I’m sorry for being MIA. My husband and I have been traveling and eating our way through Japan. We are back and just in time for my favorite season!

So below, I’m sharing a fresh twist on baking with peaches: peach cobbler muffins. Continued…

Tomorrow marks National Pie Day, so I decided to give a new pie recipe a try! I was craving something tangy and decided to mix all the frozen berries in my freezer into one delicious, gooey dessert. It was quick, easy and really hit the spot. Continued…

Bacon, Cheddar & Chive Biscuits

IMG_2130

As a child from the south – well “south-ish” (I’m from Miami); anyway, I love biscuits. I remember when I was a kid catching whiffs of buttermilk biscuits cooking away in the oven and that smell making me feel so happy. After I stopped eating gluten, I found making dough (of any kind) extremely difficult. The flour substitutes I used either made the dough too dry and the dough would break apart, or the dough would be too wet and become more like a batter. Below is a success story where the biscuits formed a golden crust on the outside and crumbled just right when I cut them apart. Continued…
